Chaperones Needed

 

On Friday, 3/26/10, the Concert Band earned a Division II rating at the MHSAA Large Group Contest.


The Symphonic Band earned straight I's across the board for a Division I rating.



On Saturday, 3/27/10, Lydia Guerra earned a division I rating for her trombone solo and will advance to the state competition. Rebekah Lowen earned a division I rating for her tuba solo and will advance to the state competition. Billy Richards earned a division II rating for his flute solo.

On Saturday, 3/27/10, the Hawks Indoor Percussion won their preliminary competition at the MCCGA Championships in Ozark, MO with an 89.4, beating out Edwardsville, Webb City, Parkview, Joplin, Harrisonville, Hillcrest, Fort Zumwalt South, Lee's Summit, Ozark and Center. The Hawks advanced to the finals competition in the afternoon, where they put up a stellar peformance and earned their second straight MCCGA Regional A Championship, narrowly beating out Edwardsville by four tenths of a point with a 91.550. The Hawks had the second highest score of the day.


Please congratulate all of the band members and the indoor percussion for an oustanding showing this past weekend.





 


 


Mr. Dedert and Mr. Blair have expressed a need for instruments, especially Alto and Tenor Saxophones, in the Junior High.
