Theory I and II
The objective of these courses is to give students who are interested
in further exploration of music and its fundamental principles
an AP style course to assist with further music education in college.
The purpose of this course is to acquaint students witht the basic
design of music; register identification, scales, intervals, chords,
melodic and rhythmic dictation, analysis, music composition and
so on, all within historical idioms. The achievement of this goal
will be promoted through dialy exercises, listening, singing,
performance, and analysis.
This
course is open to all band, choir, and guitar students. Anyone
not possesing music skills of any kind may also take this course.
However, please understand that those with a performance background
may find quicker success, but that does not mean a student without
any musical background will not be successful.
